Redland offers solar PV training course
The course will give roofing contractors, merchants and solar panel installers the opportunity to install a range of PV panels with different tile types, as the Redland system has been specifically designed to integrate with eight of Redland’s most popular tile ranges.Attendees will also be given an overview of how the system works and how to site PV systems correctly. Courses run throughout the year for 4 – 8 people and cover both classroom and practical workshop activities, including:
• How does PV work?
• Terminology and components
• Design considerations
• Different types of installation/panel
• Use of Redland Ecomaster
• Installation of PV panel with - Double Roman interlocking tiles, Interlocking slate – Cambrian & Mini Stonewold, Interlocking plain tile DuoPlain
• Associated fittings
Terry Fearfield, Redland technical training manager, said: “With the implementation of the government’s FIT scheme we expect there to be an explosion of interest and subsequent installation of solar PV systems. Redland’s roof integrated offering is ideally placed to take advantage of this, but if not properly installed problems could result in years to come.
“Our solar PV training course removes the risk of this happening as those who attend will be able to correctly install the Redland system time and again.”
