Throwing light on the landscape

Woodhouse Lighting and street furniture designer and manufacturer, Woodhouse, is offering two RIBA accredited CPD seminars to landscape architects and urban master planners: ‘Lighting the Landscape’ and ‘Materials Used in Street Furniture and Lighting’.

‘Lighting the Landscape’ is a seminar that addresses the key principles of urban landscape settings. It covers compliance issues and obligatory standards through to artistic and aesthetic lighting considerations and will therefore enable architects and designers to select the most appropriate lighting products for the project in mind, considering the impact of the lighting in aesthetic, maintenance and efficiency terms.

Similarly, the ‘Materials Used in Street Furniture and Lighting’ seminar discusses the implications and benefits of using particular materials and finishing processes to achieve products suitable for use in a variety of applications.

Finger posts and monoliths in coastal environments, for example, are best supplied in specialised finishes to reduce the risk of staining as a result of exposure to salt water.

Woodhouse’s specialists are able to offer this level of detailed knowledge to seminar attendees, helping them make informed material selections, whilst complementing the surrounding urban vista with the most relevant product specification.

Keith Lewis, sales director for Woodhouse, commented: “These two RIBA accredited CPD seminars are ideal for landscape architects, urban master planners and designers who are looking to develop their understanding of materials and lighting standards. As leaders in lighting and street furniture design, our CPD seminars offer relevant technical advice and industry insight to those looking to gain a greater level of product expertise.”
