Alumet has received the Green Apple Award, recognising the specialist construction company’s commitment to the environment. The award was presented at the Tower of London on June 14th 2010 by actress Carol Royle.

The Green Apple Awards are now in their sixteenth year and this year attracted more than 500 nominations. They are organised by The Green Organisation, an independent environment group dedicated to recognising, rewarding and promoting environmental best practice around the world.

Alumet's environmental progress during the last year includes employing a full-time environmental manager, creating a wildlife garden at its Southam headquarters that was opened by Dr David Bellamy, and completely restructuring its policies and procedures to ensure minimal environmental impact. This progress culminated in the company achieving ISO 14001 environmental accreditation.

Alumet has recently expanded its operations with the launch of a new division specialising in photovoltaic solar panels and other renewable construction technologies. The company also installed photovoltaic solar panels on its factory roof to provide a renewable electricity supply to its production equipment.
