Euroglaze adds Rauferno
Euroglaze has joined the group of Rehau fabricators authorised to manufacture fire-rated windows in the Rauferno system.Rauferno is based on the Rehau S706 70mm profile with a patented design that incorporates an intumescent material. It satisfies the requirements of BS476 Parts 20 and 22 and the 1992 Building Regulations.
Barnsley-based Euroglaze has achieved certification from Warrington Fire Research on a fixed light window in Rauferno and its installation team have received formal training at the Warrington facility.
Martin Nettleton, managing director at Euroglaze, said: “Rauferno is a very exacting product which requires exceptional levels of quality and attention to detail in both its manufacture and its installation.”
Euroglaze is now supplying 30-minute fire-rated Rauferno windows for commercial contracts, most typically in the social housing sector where they are often required alongside fire-rated doors opening out onto landings, entrance halls, fire escape routes or covered walkways.
It is also providing a specialist fabrication service for fabricators and installers who require any number of fire-rated windows to complete their own contracts. The company also plans to add fire-rated doors to its product range shortly.
Martin Nettleton added: “The market for fire rated PVC-U windows is growing all the time as specifiers look to achieve a consistent look throughout window schemes and to maximise the inherent benefits of PVC-U on their projects in terms of low maintenance and improved thermal and sound insulation.”
