Gloucester City Homes chose Lovell

lovellHousing regeneration specialist Lovell has been chosen by Gloucester City Homes (GCH) for a £30 million housing repairs and maintenance contract.
The five-year deal will see Lovell provide a reactive repairs service and deliver planned maintenance programmes for GCH, which manages Gloucester City Council’s 5,000 homes.

Under the contract, Lovell will also continue to carry out GCH’s Decent Homes programme, including the installation of new kitchens, bathrooms and central heating systems, electrical and rewiring work, and other improvements. The company will also carry out adaptations for disabled residents and refurbish void properties.

The contract, which starts in April 2010, is a significant win for Lovell and marks the continuing expansion of the business. It was awarded through a tendering process and follows the successful working partnership that has developed between GCH and Lovell since 2007, when work first commenced on GCH’s Decent Homes programme. Lovell will be GCH’s main partner on the maintenance, repair and refurbishment of the housing stock that it manages on behalf of Gloucester City Council.

GCH chief executive Ashley Green said: “I am delighted to work with Lovell in this new partnership. We have made great strides in the last four years on repairs and now we intend to build on that success by working with a trusted partner who has delivered excellent results through the Decent Homes programme.

Working with Lovell we intend to create the best repairs service in the country and one that we and our customers can be proud of.”

“We are delighted to be building on the success of our established partnership with GCH and local residents through this new contract,” added Lovell managing director Stewart Davenport.

“We are committed to providing a customer-focused, efficient service which puts GCH’s residents first. Lovell has extensive expertise in reactive and planned maintenance and we are very pleased to have been chosen to provide these key services for GCH.”

The contract will be delivered by experienced Lovell engineers and tradespeople, supported by the company’s specialist customer services and resident liaison teams.
